Morse Road Tire Cleanup Continues...

FACT Members continued their cleanup of Morse Road tires. This year, FACT, in collaboration with Dipietro Tyre Center located at 5700 Westerville Rd, has focused Alum Creek cleanup efforts on abandoned tires.  Abandoned tires are not only unsightly but also present a potential human health hazard by providing prime mosquito breeding habitat. To date this year, FACT voluteers have

recovered for disposal a total of 124 abandoned tires from Alum Creek.

Special thanks goes to Columbus Recreation & Parks Department and Dipietro Tyre Center for their generous support of the Alum Creek tire clean-up program and for faciliating the proper disposal of these abandoned tires.  Also, many thanks go to FACT volunteers David Hohmann and David Roseman for making this program a success through their relentless energy, and to the High School Summer Leadership Institute volunteers for removing 50 tires from the creek at Morse Road in one outing!
